I'd love to use this for a card in my custom set. Its not for profit or anything, just for a group of my friends. You will be properly credited on the card if allowed to use it If its a yes, can I get a non "ladyowl.deviantart.com" version of it?
Though I know we say practice makes perfect and most artist agree that they abandon their drawings at one point... like the other saying says, art is never finished, always abandoned (or something along these lines). I myself agree that many times I just say enough is enough even though I know I could fine tune an image more (but once I clock 20 hours or more on one image, I think enough has gone into it). How long did it take you to make this image ?
Also if you have 5 minutes I'd love your comments or critique of my project The Kyrian Chronicles [link] I need someone with true talent to give me their thoughts, cause if I have to go by the daily downloads on the app store : I pretty much can call it quits.
Well,... there were a several pauses in this work. I even don`t know how much time.... 1 week or 3 weeks) Something like this.
About your comics - I like colors! Very much! Very impressive!) But - I think you need to work with proportions of faces. Try to draw not only in anime style)You have great 3D works)... So,I think you are on right way) Just keep on!
Thanks for your kind words and feedback. I agree I should learn to draw non anime, it's just I drew like this for 10 years and it kinda stuck, but I need to make an effort and draw more realistic characters as well. I went 3d (poser/vue/zbrush/...) as a way to do more realistic works but these aren't my own models, therefore I mostly compose an idea out of multiple renders. I never know if I should train more on drawing 2D or learn to model 3D... my fear is once I model in 3D I might not want to draw by hand anymore... though for making a comics fully modeled 3D models would allow me to make the pages must faster. I suppose learning both would allow me to progress in both categories but time is the issue, and I'm also a gadget and technology freak and I already waste quite some amount of time trying new systems and developing these skills (as it is my work).
Thanks again for the feedback and your comments, I totally agree that proportions in some of my images in the Kyrian Chronicles could be much better (I drew them 9 years ago but today I see multiple images I would do differently).
Few people can pull off curly AND long hair on a male but you got it just right. He seems to be reclusive and thoughtful at first glance. At least to me. And I kindof guessed he had some more mystical way of seeing. Very good!
I love that he's blind, at first I thought he used magic a bit like the force to 'feel' his enemies, and that maybe his eyes were cut out when he was a child to force him to rely on magic to sense the world and therefore force him to master it! Then I read the description I love it when a picture makes my imagination go off on a daydream because it's so captivating - great job!
